The House Before

The Wilson family has been working on their little home in Vernal for months now. Here are some "before" pictures. This is the living room with its wood stove. The carpet was disgusting and in my opinion unlivable. We ripped out ALL the carpet and padding. Then we cleaned and painted the walls. This is my studly husband. The walls in the living room were white but it was hard to tell with all the grime on them.
Adon and Collin's future bedroom. It has a greenish paint on the walls. It wasn't so bad when the carpet was in because it sort of matched.
My studly husband in our bedroom. There was a lot of cleaning and maintenance; little things that needed done but made a big difference.

The Kitchen Before

The boys helped with some of the painting in the kitchen.
They really got into it. They love to help.
This is the kitchen before we changed it up. We didn't do much changing here. The wall is a pink/beige and we painted it grey and white to match the rest of the house. We added a few cupboards above the freezer. We may do more in the kitchen but we are slightly limited with space.
Aaron and I really enjoy this kind of work. It was fun to plan and carry out the things we wanted to do for our new home.

Christmas Morning 2011

Christmas came on a Sunday this year. The boys didn't wake up until 7:30 which is normal. So we didn't have enough time to open all our presents before we had to be at church. Mommy was playing in the sacrament program so we even had to be there early. Papa Egbert joined us before church to watch the boys open their presents.

Santa sure found us this year. I hope that every one else had just as nice of a Christmas. It was wonderful to add a sacrament meeting dedicated to the reason we celebrate Christmas. We should have Christmas on a Sunday every year. Merry Christmas everyone.

Sledding...on snow?

Thanks to some fervent prayers done by a couple of little kids, there was a little skiff of snow on a shady side of a hill in the middle of Hyde Park. Yes, we took advantage of it and went sledding.
I'm pretty sure every one had fun.

Yes, even the dogs.

Silly Pictures

"Excuse me, I mustache you a question."
Yes, its a Storm Trooper. And no, I don't know who to blame for this kind of treatment. Maybe it was the Alliance.

Dear Santa, I can explain...

Our ward Christmas party finally had a Santa Clause this year. The boys are at that cute age where they truly believe. They were also at the front of the line. Adon asked Santa for a Cars 2 Race Track. He was on his lap for a while so I'm pretty sure Santa got a full detail.
"Santa, all I want is an orange" Technically that would have made Collin's Christmas. It definitely was the highlight of the party for him. As soon as he got on Santa's lap, Collin showed Santa his scar on his belly button. I guess it was proof that he had been a good boy this year. I'm pretty sure that Santa didn't understand the rest of Collin's requests... but we are working on it.

Have Yourself a Merry Purple Christmas

Aaron said,"I want a purple tree." So we did. Here it is all finished.
Adon, Collin, and Mommy made purple and silver decorations. We had purple "Halloween" lights on it.
Adon wanted to take a picture of Mommy and Daddy in front of the tree. This is the picture he took. Not to shabby for a five year old.

The Joys of a Box

There are endless games and adventures that can be played in a box. My boys couldn't be happier.
They even shared a hole to watch tv in a box.
