Yoda and Darth Vader have become friends...

Yes my boys are like night and day but who is to say who is the dark side and who is the light. Here are my boys in their Halloween costumes. Yes, I know its early but they like to play dress up just like any other kids. And I intend to get my moneys worth out of these costumes. Collin as Yoda.
Adon as Vader but without his mask.

Good buddies.

Darth Yoda. He really loved the ears this is just one of his poses.

Sorry duplicate.

Yoda levitating. The force is with you!

The Tomatoe are TURNING!

October will be here in a few short days and the tomatoes are finally turning! We have worked so hard to keep these tomatoes from freezing and now we a have a few. I've had two or three tomatoe toasted tomatoe sandwiches every day. I'm in love: Toast two slices of sourdough (asiago) bread. Light spread of MW or Mayo (depending on if you have joined the dark side) or avacado *personally I like both. Then slice as much tomatoe as you possibly can keep between the bread. Sprinkle with black pepper and you guessed it a pinch of garlic powder. AMAZING!
We picked another sack to add to these in hopes that we will be able to do some pizza sauce. YUMMY. I have to keep an eye on the boys around the tomatoes. Collin likes to throw them and then step on them. Nearly breaks my heart since every tomatoe is like gold with how much work we have done to get them. Also featured are the LAST of the peppers. We did get one red one though.

Pickled jalepeno and banana peppers. I had so many peppers that I didn't know what to do with thiem and this is after all ready putting aside enough for three batches of salsa. I found out a few of our neighbors like pickled peppers so I pickled them for the first time ever using Aunt Ana's recipe. Got a compliment for them at church today. I never want to see another jalepeno as long as I live. I cut up literally hundreds of them to fill these few pints. I just hate to waste that many peppers.

First of many Unfinished projects

I learned how to make these "messy bows" on a show and thought to myself. "Self, you can do something like that." So as you can see there is old music paper (from a real music book, yes I know I have committed the unspeakable crime). Burlap pieces, fall colored fabric strips and pipe cleaners, and some little fall berries I had lying around.

Tada! On a grape vine wreath that I got on sale. Love the shape even though I was looking for a square one. Love the simplicity and it cost me less than 3 bucks.

Adon's First Two-Wheeler

Grandma and Grandpa Wilson held onto this bike since Adon's cousin, Gabe, grew out of it. We brought it home from Vernal at our last visit and now its Adons. Adon and Collin love to ride their bikes our on our cement pad. He sure loves it. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa and Gabe.

Dream Bed

This is my dream bed and our first real piece of furniture that we have bought. Long story. Mom and I were out on a date as a thank you for watching my boys. While we were out to dinner and a movie, Aaron stopped at a furniture store that was having a sale (as an impulse because he was really headed to the mall). Now Aaron doesn't do many impulse things when it comes to money but he saw the bed, and bought the bed. Ryan and Dad helped him get the bed to the house and set it up. When I got home he surprised me with this dream bed of mine. I cried. Okay I bawled. Its not so much that he bought my dream bed for me but that he would do something like that for me.... just to see me cry.

Service Auction Birthday Cake

Our Relief Society did a Mother/Daughter service auction. I gave away a cake. One of my beehives got it. Her birthday was this weekend and she came over for me to discuss a design for her cake. From the very beginning this cake did NOT want to be made. Luckily, with some late night effort, Aaron and I came up with this cake. Birthday girl LOVED it!
Close up of the roses. When I was little I watched my Aunt Randy make cakes. They were beautiful. She even made a few for me and they always had these beautiful roses. One day I got to watch her make these roses. My memory fails at where and when but I watched. I remembered, years later, how she did it and this is my version. I was nervous because I never made a single rose in my life. Thanks Randy, for the memories and for your recipe.

Before and After....Church

Before Church: Adon is all ready and just chillaxing. Waiting patiently to go to church.
After Church: Over doing the chillaxin. Aaron and Collin ready for naps after church.

Bathing Beauties

Now that its started to get cold in the evenings, as soon as the boys get out of the tub this is what they do. They curl up in little cute balls.

Blessings of our Garden

Our first batch of peppers and a few cucumbers. This is an old picture but just to show you how big my peppers grew. They are bigger than the ones you get at the store and heavier. And about every week there were four or five more. My pepper plants just can't take the weight so I I pick them. My favorite part. I've done about a dozen jars of pickles but now i am done with pickles. On to jalapenos, salsa, pears, and peaches.

There is a story behind these huge carrots. My neighbor planted a sparse row of carrots. Lots didn't even come up. I know you can leave carrots in the ground and they will keep through the winter. Yet, I was getting sick of watering this row of carrots that I thought had less than a dozen carrots. So I had Adon pick the carrots and they just kept coming and coming. The big ones are as big as ears of corn. NOT KIDDING. So we had carrots coming out of our ears. Luckily I was able to give most of them back to the neighbor who planted them in the first place.
