Coloring Easter Eggs

Adon coloring his first egg with crayons before dipping it into a cup of dye. Nana let us use her kitchen. She took a lot of cute pictures that I hope to snag from her blog, but here is what I got.
I tried to tell them that watching eggs dye is like watching grass grow or water boil.

Adon's first egg; and of course its ORANGE!

The boys stood "still" for a second while I snapped a picture of our dyed eggs. So pretty and colorful. Happy Easter!

April Showers Bring...Puddles!

Yes it had been raining for days straight and it was still cold outside, but the boys had had enough (mom too) of being cooped up inside. So with our rubber boots and a jacket Adon and Collin went puddle hopping.
...and splashing...

...and kicking...

When it finally got too cold to move...we went inside. Collin is soaked from waist down in muddy water. Adon's boots were so full of water that he couldn't get them off and Mom even had difficulty getting them off. Luckily, a huge bubble bath followed our puddle hopping filled afternoon.

Adon's Photography Skills

A button? A light fixture? A UFO? Adon likes to get a hold of my camera and take pictures of various objects. Lately he focuses on things instead of just taking picutres as fast as the camera can. Here is just a few, I tried to just add the ones of actual people instead of just things.

The Mind of Adon

Adon is so smart and has made leaps and bounds in his learing. Here is his upper case alphabet. He loves to write and spell out words. He loves to read and I'm pretty sure he has "Green Eggs and Ham" memorized. He only needed help wiht "R and G".
I saw Adon make this little picture and I asked him who it was. He said it was him. So here is Adon with his "self portrait".

He was so proud of this little tower, maybe because it got so high before Collin knocked it down. He came to get me and wanted his picture taken. I'm so proud of my smart little guy.

Atari Novices

One night while I was at work, Aaron got out the Atari. Aaron loves the Atari from his childhood and wanted to share it with the boys.
I think they had fun and even Mom had to play just one little game before leaving for work.

Playing With Eggs....Early

This picture is a few months old but I figured it was appropriate for Easter. There were a few days that Collin was really interested in the eggs in the fridge. He had learned how to open the fridge and the large box of eggs was at his level. (Big mistake). Once or twice I had heard him get in the fridge and by the time I got to him, he was cradling a precious white egg in his little hands. I woke up to this one morning to this... 9 eggs on the kitchen floor. Yes, I was upset but I was grateful that not one egg made it onto the carpet. (Hey I count my blessings). Lets just say, the eggs have a new home and they are hidden. We will see how finding plastic eggs for Easter affect this little fetish of his.

Ready For Church

Collin James in Great-great-grandpa Jame's bolo tie. Smooth looking dude!
Adon LaVell in Aaron LaVell's bolo tie. Looking sharp.

A Child's Prayer

Lately, Adon, has gotten really creative with his prayers. He says what he wants to say and he doesn't want help. I love it. Usually he is praying for things that he really wants like to go to Grandpa Daryl's house. Often I sit there listening and wishing I was recording his little prayers. This one was so great I had to drop what I was doing and write down what I could remember.
Adon: "....I'm thankful for Jesus to come help me not be angry or sad. That we go to the woods and wing...Jesus and his friend make my heart super happy...." This is kind of verbatim because there were pauses, umms, and ands mixed in there. I love listening to little kids pray. Adon's little cousin, Evy, was in the hospital for almost two weeks with pneumonia and we were praying every day for her to get better. That was months ago and even though Evy made a full recovery and had a few bumps along the way. He still prays that Evy will get better soon. I love you little man!
